- Nuclear Operations personnel are directly involved in supporting core nuclear activities in the H-Canyon, HB-Line, K-Area, L-Area, E-Area, Deactivation, SRTE, and SRPPF.
Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Plan, develop, implement and administer a variety of broad or unique programmatic, technical or administrative functions in direct or indirect support of operations. Provide immediate level guidance, work direction, oversight, and leadership to a functional work group(s), section or unit in an operations or operations support capacity. Monitor and assess operations-related evolutions in facility systems or equipment. Ensure the safe and optimally efficient operation of facility systems and equipment. Perform periodic reviews and assessments to ensure facility systems are operating properly and are being maintained within required limits. Maintain a comprehensive awareness of scheduled or anticipated work evolutions or other related operations support activities that could impact facility operations on shift/area of responsibility. Demonstrate positive and adverse trends in operations and operations support performance measures. Identify causal factors and develop recommendations to mitigate adverse trends and to enhance positive trends. Prepare and/or review facility work packages and related work control processes in support of operations, maintenance and project work evolutions associated with the daily operations of the area or facility. Interface with other groups within the facility, department and site in support of this effort. Lead ad hoc teams in resolving moderately complex technical or programmatic compliance issues, events and concerns directly or closely associated with operations areas. Review and ensure the communication and understanding of new and revised technical and operations procedures, bulletins and required reading to operators and other relevant operations support personnel. Conduct training for operations personnel on new systems and equipment and evaluate and critique performance. Establish or assist in establishing training requirements. Function in a variety of contingency coordinator roles in support of operations. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in relevant field plus completion of applicable certification or on-the-job training plus at least 1.5 years of experience (YOE) in an applicable role, OR High school diploma plus completion of applicable certification or on-the-job training plus at least three years of experience (YOE) in an applicable role Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered. Some Operations positions have higher education levels as required by DOE Order 426.2. We'd Also Like to See Operations, Project Management, Project Execution, Engineering, P6 scheduling, SRTE facility experience. Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
