Job Description
Ambassador Personnel is recruiting on behalf of our client, a global manufacturer located in Gaffney, SC, for an experienced Production Planner / Scheduler. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production schedules are developed and maintained to meet customer requirements while maximizing efficiency, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery performance. Our client is a well-established international manufacturer serving the automotive industry. They are known for producing high-quality interior products and components for some of the world's leading vehicle manufacturers. Position Summary The Production Planner / Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to support customer demand while optimizing labor, materials, equipment, and production capacity. This role works closely with production, materials, customer service, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and long-range production schedules based on customer demand and sales forecasts Analyze customer releases and production requirements to determine scheduling needs Perform capacity planning and evaluate production capabilities to support business needs Ensure effective utilization of labor, materials, machinery, and other resources Monitor production activities and adjust schedules as needed to address changing priorities Develop recovery plans for production delays and capacity constraints Coordinate with cross-functional teams to communicate schedules, identify constraints, and mitigate risks Calculate material requirements based on customer demand, lead times, minimum order quantities, production efficiency, and operational constraints Track and report key performance indicators including schedule attainment, inventory levels, capacity utilization, and line efficiency Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning and scheduling processes Work closely with production and materials teams to ensure materials and equipment are available for scheduled production Assist with new product launches, engineering changes, pilot production activities, and production ramp-ups Respond quickly to production issues involving scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and resource constraints Generate reports and analyze data to support informed business decisions Qualifications Minimum 4 years of experience in Production Planning, Production Scheduling, Materials Planning, or a related manufacturing planning role Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred Strong understanding of capacity planning and production scheduling processes Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies is a plus Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Comprehensive benefits package Career growth opportunities with an established global manufacturer Ambassador Personnel, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
