Long-Term Ongoing W-2 Contract HKA Enterprises is seeking a Material Control Specialist I to support a leading manufacturing operation in Greer, SC. This position is responsible for ensuring materials are available to support production while maintaining optimal inventory levels and working closely with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams. Benefits Competitive hourly pay Long-term ongoing assignment Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Sick Leave Paid Holidays Work Schedule Monday-Friday A Shift / Day Shift Occasional Saturday work on a rotating schedule based on business needs 100% onsite during onboarding After onboarding, eligible to work remotely one day per week on a rotating basis (subject to business needs and company policy) Position Summary The Material Control Specialist I is responsible for planning and managing material availability to support production requirements while optimizing inventory levels. This role works closely with suppliers, transportation providers, and cross-functional teams to ensure materials arrive on time, inventory remains accurate, and production schedules are maintained. Responsibilities Plan and monitor material requirements to ensure production schedules are fully supported. Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess inventory and shortages. Perform material planning activities and maintain planning parameters within SAP. Support production activities, engineering changes, new part introductions, and product phase-out activities while minimizing obsolete inventory. Analyze inventory and material planning data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Monitor supplier performance and maintain supplier rating information. Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, logistics providers, and internal departments to resolve material shortages and delivery issues. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects. Prepare reports, analyze data, and communicate planning information using Microsoft Office applications. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, International Business, or a related field preferred OR Four (4) years of equivalent professional experience in Material Planning, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Experience 1-3 years of Supply Chain Management experience 1-3 years of Material Control or Production Control experience Material Requirements Planning (MRP) experience is preferred Required Skills SAP Microsoft Excel (Advanced preferred) Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Word Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Additional Information No relocation assistance is available.
