No County Rockland Street Address NYS Office of Mental Health Hudson River Regional Revite Team City Orangeburg State NY Zip Code 10962 Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill two Facility Operations Assistant 1 positions. These are temporary/hourly long-term positions in the Bureau of Environmental Design and Improvement located in the Hudson River region. Under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor 1 and Maintenance Supervisor 3, Facility Operations Assistants will travel to various facilities to perform special project renovations, ongoing maintenance, small repair and environmental projects in one of five regions. The Hudson River region includes Rockland, Orange and Dutchess counties. Specific duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with performing a variety of routine unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, installation, and construction tasks in one or more of the trades including carpentry, painting, minor electrical, masonry/tilework, and flooring.
- Follow written and verbal instructions, project plans, and schedules.
- Possess working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in trades to which assigned.
- Perform manual labor with the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- May climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms, and in confined spaces.
- Demonstrate the ability to adhere to OSHA safety standards.
- Assist in the completion of minor rehabilitation projects located at OMH facilities as assigned.
- Team travel within the assigned region to multiple OMH facilities
- Ability to wear a negative pressure respirator (N95), pass a fit test, and use other personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job duties.
- Assist with ongoing maintenance, small repair, and environmental improvement projects; perform general grounds keeping, landscaping, building maintenance, and painting as needed.
- Provide emergency response for floods, snowstorms, etc. as needed.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications These are labor class positions.
