Job Description

The Scheduling Specialist works under supervision of the Assistant Registrar and Registrar and is primarily responsible for production copy of the Schedule of Classes and maintaining the Course Catalog. Will be responsible to critically review information submitted for course schedule for accuracy, and conformance to policies and practices for the University. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Critically review and resolve discrepancies in production copy for the Schedule of Classes for main campus and Fort Campbell campus. Review room assignments, time slots related to the Standard Meeting Timetable, instructional method, schedule types, campus code and section numbers to be sure they coordinate with University Section Table. Apply all First Day (digital book) information to participate in courses. Create all Study Abroad and register students in INTS course for allotted hours. Create Dual Enrollment and Middle College courses Maintain and Update Course Catalog (SCACRSE) Create courses for Consortium Agreements and register students for the allotted hours. Utilize Argos software to run reports used to analyze schedule data Upload student records to Perceptive Content. Prepare internal and external correspondence to students regarding academic probation and suspension when assisting Associate Registrar. Assist in processing student registration and withdrawals. Coordinate with department chairs and deans in compiling and updating the Schedule of Classes. Conduct training sessions for administrative and departmental staff on procedures related to the procedures of the input of course schedule. Serve as back-up for reception area as needed. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to efficiently use word processing equipment/personal computer and associated software. Ability to create computer reports using BANNER and/or other appropriate software. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community and the public. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to act independently. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of one year of progressive experience in higher education administration, operations management, or a related field Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train and collaborate with diverse campus departments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Preferred Qualifications Experience with student information systems (e.g., Banner), Degree Works, or scheduling systems (e.g., Coursedog)
Physical Requirements Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
