Operations Assistant
Job Description
Milan Box Corporation had its beginning in 1927 when Mr. A.N. Dedmon moved to Milan from Gibson, TN and began making boxes and crates to pack out the region's bountiful fruit crop. With the advent of World War II, the company expanded and began manufacturing military ammunition boxes. During the 1950's, due to the rapidly growing demand in the industrial sector, the company shifted more of its production from the fruit and vegetable markets to the industrial markets. Milan Box Corporation is a fourth-generation family business, owned and operated since 1927. Throughout our history, Milan Box has maintained its excellent reputation as a high-quality manufacturer of plywood and wood packaging within the military and industrial/commercial industries. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Assistant to join our Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting our Operations Engineer with ISO compliance, compiling documentation, record keeping, testing, and continuous improvement.
General Responsibilities Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance procedures to meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining our ISO Program with the assistance of team members.
- Learn and maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant military specifications, safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Work closely with management and employees to ensure compliance requirements are up to date.
Equipment Calibration & Maintenance:
- Assist in the calibration, and maintenance of testing equipment and machinery used in the qualification of ammunition and fiber mortar containers.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and in compliance with the required specifications.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all testing activities, including test results, calibration certifications, and compliance checks.
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of testing outcomes.
- Ensure proper storage and archiving of all test-related documentation to maintain traceability and facilitate audits.
- Creating and compiling of job packets for the production team.
Ray Jet Design & Maintenance:
- Assist in maintaining our die cutting program, keeping all customer printing requirements up to date.
- Assist in the design and mockup of sample boxes for customer print approval.
- Assist in maintaining the working status of the machines and programs.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement within the quality assurance and compliance testing protocols.
- Support the development of new testing procedures to address emerging technologies and regulations.
- Participate in training programs and stay informed on new developments in military specifications. Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field; or equivalent technical training and experience.Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in a assisting and compliance role, preferably within the military, defense, or manufacturing industries.Technical Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Internet.ISO 9001
2015: Preferable skills in ISO program. Experience in auditing, root cause analysis, and maintain a corrective action database would be a plus.- Attention to

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in a lab environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials or testing conditions.Preferred Skills:
Experience working in a defense or military-related industry. Familiarity with ISO standards and other industry certifications would be a plus...Pay:
