Central Scheduler - LPN

IND1 POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedules patients for exams in a timely manner Is capable of multi-tasking on numerous phone lines Have full knowledge of all preps and what exams can be scheduled together. Answer telephones in a polite friendly manner and has a good working relationship with physician's offices and all hospital employees. Must be knowledgeable of all exams in the Imaging Department Must be knowledgeable of insurances and asks for pre-cert numbers or medical necessity on exams required. Maintains a high level of confidentiality within the department and the hospital Adheres to HIPAA privacy regulation in accordance with hospital's policies and procedures Coordinates with Medical Imaging when a Nuclear Medicine study is scheduled to ensure isotope is correctly ordered. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

LPN licensure preferred High School Diploma/GED required in lieu of LPN licensure Current BLS (or obtain prior to the completion of orientation) Excellent communication & computer skills Familiar with medical terminology Prior scheduling or medical office experience
