Job Description

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules that support customer delivery commitments, operational efficiency, and manufacturing throughput. This role works closely with production, purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams to align labor capacity, material availability, and project timelines while ensuring production priorities are executed effectively. The Production Scheduler plays a critical role in balancing workflow, minimizing disruptions, and supporting Paragon Furniture's commitment to quality, service, and on-time delivery. Build, maintain, and manage master production schedules for active, incoming, and forecasted orders Sequence production runs to maximize manufacturing efficiency, labor utilization, and on-time customer delivery performance Adjust production schedules dynamically in response to material shortages, capacity constraints, rush orders, equipment downtime, or project scope changes Coordinate scheduling activities with production, purchasing, warehouse, sales, and engineering teams to ensure alignment across departments Monitor work-in-progress inventory, production flow, and capacity utilization to identify bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts Maintain accurate scheduling, routing, and production data within Odoo ERP Generate production scheduling reports, communicate schedule updates, and provide visibility into production priorities and timelines Anticipate scheduling risks and proactively escalate issues with recommended solutions to minimize operational disruptions Support seasonal production planning, forecast changes, and shifting project priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Collaborate with leadership and operations teams to improve scheduling processes, workflow efficiency, and production performance Track schedule adherence and production performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives Ensure production schedules align with inventory availability, labor capacity, and customer expectations 2+ years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or supply chain coordination Strong understanding of production scheduling, demand planning, and workflow coordination Experience using ERP systems for scheduling and production management (Odoo experience strongly preferred) Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across production, purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate scheduling data and reporting Experience in furniture, commercial interiors, or durable goods manufacturing Experience coordinating mixed-lead-time projects or multi-product manufacturing schedules Familiarity with seasonal production environments and high-volume demand planning Knowledge of inventory flow, material planning, and production capacity management
APICS CPIM
certification or similar production planning credential Experience working within a dealer/distributor manufacturing model Familiarity with ANSI/BIFMA or BNIF standards is a plus
