Desoto, TX Job Description We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator / Surgery Scheduler to join our healthcare team in Desoto, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient referrals and coordinating surgery schedules to ensure smooth and efficient patient care operations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage patient referrals from physicians, insurance companies, and patients. Schedule surgical procedures in collaboration with surgeons, patients, and facility staff. Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations for surgeries and referrals. Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, pre-operative instructions, and follow-up care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and scheduling information in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to optimize scheduling and referral processes. Address patient inquiries and resolve scheduling conflicts in a timely and professional manner. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher preferred. Previous experience in medical scheduling, referral coordination, or a related healthcare administrative role. Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance processes, and surgical procedures. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality regulations.
