Job Description
We are looking for a dependable, confident, and personable On-Site Motel Operations Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our motel. This is a live-on-site position. We are looking for someone who is friendly and welcoming with guests but also firm, responsible, and comfortable enforcing property rules and payment policies when necessary. This is a hands-on position and is best suited for someone who is comfortable interacting with people from all walks of life and handling the occasional challenging situation calmly and professionally. Responsibilities Handle guest check-ins and check-outs Enter and maintain guest information in the motel management system Answer incoming phone calls and guest inquiries Show available rooms to prospective guests Collect and track guest payments Follow up with guests whose payments have not been received by the required time, including knocking on doors when necessary Communicate payment deadlines and property policies clearly and firmly Regularly walk and monitor the property Help maintain a safe, orderly environment Address guest concerns, disturbances, rule violations, and other day-to-day issues Contact ownership or appropriate authorities when a situation needs to be escalated Keep ownership informed of important incidents, unpaid balances, vacancies, and property concerns Assist with other routine motel operations as needed Who We're Looking For The right person is: Friendly and personable — able to make guests feel welcome and comfortable Firm and confident — not afraid to enforce rules or approach someone regarding nonpayment Observant — notices what is happening around the property rather than staying behind the desk Calm under pressure — able to handle disagreements or difficult personalities without unnecessarily escalating the situation Reliable and responsible Comfortable working independently Organized and able to use a computer-based guest management system Comfortable living and working on-site Able to maintain professional boundaries with guests and residents Important This is not strictly a front-desk position. The person in this role will be responsible for being an active presence on the property. Our motel serves a variety of guests, including weekly and extended-stay guests. From time to time, situations may involve late or missed payments, disagreements between guests, disturbances, or other property issues . The person in this position needs to be comfortable addressing these situations professionally, firmly, and safely. We are looking for someone who can be kind without being a pushover, firm without being confrontational, and proactive about keeping the property running smoothly. On-site housing is provided as part of the position!
