Job Description
The Senior Expeditor is responsible for monitoring supplier commitments and supporting the timely delivery of materials for construction projects from purchase order issuance through final delivery. This position serves as a liaison between suppliers, procurement, project teams, construction management, and field operations to help maintain alignment between material availability, construction sequencing, and project schedules. The role requires sound judgment, critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
- Monitor open purchase orders, supplier commitments, analyze delivery schedules, and confirm milestone completion.
- Coordinate material deliveries with construction sequencing, project priorities, and field requirements.
- Identify delivery risks, schedule conflicts, and supply chain disruptions, and communicate potential impacts to appropriate stakeholders.
- Work with suppliers to obtain status updates, resolve delivery issues, and support corrective action plans.
- Provide delivery status updates and expediting reports to procurement, project, construction, and field teams.
- Coordinate expedited shipments and recovery actions as needed to support project milestones.
- Maintain accurate expediting records, tracking tools, and delivery documentation. The following qualifications are required for this position:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in expediting, order management, logistics, construction operations, project coordination, or a related field.
- Experience supporting schedule-driven construction, industrial, energy, hospitality, infrastructure, or similar project environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder needs in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working directly with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, or subcontractors.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams. The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, purchase order management, supplier performance monitoring, and expediting practices.
- Experience using ERP or procurement systems, including Oracle Fusion Procurement.
- Experience developing and maintaining material tracking reports, expediting logs, or project status dashboards.
