September 21st, 2026 Complex & Event Operations Specialist The Complex & Event Operations Specialist performs journey-level maintenance, venue operations, and event preparation across the Western Park facilities, grounds, and seasonal ice rink, primarily working night and weekend shifts. Acting as a key operational liaison, this role coordinates directly with office staff and community groups to execute room layouts, monitor HVAC and lighting systems, ensure fire safety code compliance, and provide guidance to seasonal staff. The position handles comprehensive facility care—ranging from custodial upkeep and concession/kitchen maintenance to grounds grooming, landscaping, sprinkler repair, and pesticide application using ATVs with spray rigs. Additionally, the Specialist operates heavy equipment—including tractors, skid steers, backhoes, dump trucks, and Zambonis—while delivering hands-on seasonal ice rink support through skate fittings, ice maintenance, rental gear inspections, and basic POS cash handling. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent combined with at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in facility operations, building maintenance, or related trades such as electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or carpentry work (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience). Completion of trade school, vocational training, or specialized coursework in construction or facilities management is preferred. Special Qualifications This role requires the flexibility to work predominantly night and weekend shifts to support facility events and operations. Additionally, candidates must be available for 24-hour emergency call-outs as assigned or when management is off-site. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $21.56 an hour depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being.
