Job Summary InSync is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgical Scheduler to coordinate and schedule surgical procedures while ensuring all necessary clinical, insurance, and procedural information is accurately collected. The Surgical Scheduler will receive scheduling requests from providers, clinics, call centers, and other healthcare teams. This role is responsible for coordinating surgical schedules, resolving scheduling conflicts, communicating with patients and care teams, and ensuring all required information, equipment, and pre-operative requirements are in place before each procedure. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Duties and Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures while ensuring appropriate time is allocated based on physician and operating room availability. Coordinate similar procedures based on available dates, times, locations, and surgeon schedules to maximize operating room utilization and staff efficiency. Coordinate requests for special equipment, instruments, supplies, and other resources needed for scheduled procedures. Resolve scheduling conflicts by collaborating with operating room clinical coordinators and other members of the surgical team. Identify and obtain missing patient information, equipment requirements, CPT codes, and special requests from physician offices to ensure complete and accurate surgical postings. Review scheduling workflows and collaborate with surgeons and clinical leadership to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and streamlined processes. Maintain fair and equitable operating room scheduling while considering patient safety, access to care, and appropriate working conditions. Process surgical scheduling requests accurately, efficiently, and professionally. Coordinate with members of the care team to ensure all necessary personnel are involved in the surgical procedure. Coordinate scheduling and communication with surgeons, co-surgeons, and first assistants. Verify that required pre-operative exams, testing, and appointments are completed before the scheduled surgery date. Track scheduling changes and communicate updates to patients, including changes to procedure dates, times, locations, pre-surgical appointments, and other required assessments. Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation. Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, clinical teams, and other departments to support a smooth surgical experience. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Healthcare scheduling experience preferred. Experience with surgical scheduling, medical office operations, or hospital scheduling is strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work professionally with patients, physicians, clinical staff, and administrative teams. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, insurance information, and pre-operative requirements is preferred. Strong computer and data-entry skills. Ability to identify scheduling issues and effectively coordinate solutions.
Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
