Position Type:

Contract We are currently seeking an experienced Surgical Scheduler / Procedure Scheduler for an on-site healthcare opportunity in Fairfax, VA . This position is ideal for someone with strong recent EPIC experience, procedure scheduling, and prior authorization experience who can work independently with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures Manage procedure scheduling based on physician and OR availability Obtain and verify patient information, CPT codes, authorizations, and procedure details Handle prior authorizations for procedures Coordinate special equipment, instruments, and supply requests Ensure required pre-operative testing and appointments are completed Communicate scheduling changes and pre-surgical requirements to patients Coordinate with surgeons, clinical teams, and other departments Resolve scheduling conflicts and maintain accurate surgical postings Support efficient scheduling and patient access workflows

Required Qualifications:

Recent EPIC experience within the last 3 years - required Prior authorization experience, preferably for medical/surgical procedures Experience with surgical or procedure scheduling Strong understanding of healthcare scheduling workflows Ability to work independently with limited training Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

Preferred Experience:

Patient registration Patient check-in/check-out Front-end patient access Experience working in a physician practice, surgical office, hospital, or procedural setting

Schedule & Work Environment:

Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM No weekends No on-call No holiday requirements No floating
