WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
~ A strategic and analytical thinker who can analyze production data, identify trends, and make informed decisions that support overall business and production goals. Someone skilled in capacity planning who can evaluate available resources, equipment, labor, and production capabilities to ensure schedules are realistic and achievable. An organized and proactive production scheduler who can develop, manage, and adjust production schedules to meet customer demands and changing priorities. A proactive problem solver who can quickly identify scheduling or capacity constraints and develop solutions to minimize downtime and keep operations moving. A collaborative team player who communicates effectively with Production, Purchasing, Sales, and other departments to align priorities and support overall production strategy. Someone who takes ownership and works with attention to detail while balancing efficiency, quality, capacity, and customer expectations. Job Summary The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating production plans that support customer delivery requirements, optimize available capacity, and ensure materials and resources are available when needed. This role works closely with Production, Purchasing, Sales, Account Management, and other departments to coordinate daily and weekly production priorities while identifying potential scheduling risks before they impact customer commitments. The Production Scheduler will utilize ECI M1 and other planning tools to monitor production schedules, material requirements, work center capacity, and schedule attainment. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly.
Primary Responsibilities Production Scheduling:
Schedule and sequence work orders across appropriate work centers to maximize throughput while supporting on-time delivery commitments.
Capacity Monitoring:
Monitor work center capacity and identify potential bottlenecks, constraints, or scheduling conflicts that could impact production or customer delivery.
ERP/MSP Management:
Utilize ECI M1 to review production requirements. Manage MSP processes and identify production bottlenecks that may impact production schedules.
Schedule Risk Management:
Identify potential delays or constraints and communicate risks proactively to Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Account Management.
Production Planning:
Develop, maintain, and communicate daily and weekly production plans based on customer requirements, available capacity, material availability, and production priorities.
Daily Production Coordination:
Work closely with Production leadership to adjust schedules based on machine availability, staffing, material constraints, quality issues, downtime, and changing customer priorities.
Schedule Attainment:
Monitor daily and weekly schedule attainment by comparing scheduled work against completed work and identifying reasons for missed schedules.
Production Communication:
Maintain clear and timely communication regarding schedule changes, priorities, shortages, and potential delivery concerns.
Job Prioritization:
Assist Production leadership in establishing priorities when multiple jobs compete for the same equipment, resources, or production capacity.
Data & Reporting:
Maintain accurate planning information and provide reporting related to production schedules, capacity, schedule attainment, and other relevant planning metrics. Secondary Responsibilities Apply strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify opportunities to improve production flow, scheduling accuracy, and communication. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, scheduling, inventory, and operational efficiency. Identify recurring production constraints and recommend practical solutions to improve predictability and throughput. Assist with the development and implementation of improved planning processes, systems, and tools. Support cross-functional initiatives designed to improve customer service, on-time delivery, and overall operational performance Required Skills & Abilities Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through. Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adjust quickly to changing production requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to interpret production schedules, work orders, inventory information, and basic manufacturing data. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to learn and effectively utilize ERP and production planning systems. Strong sense of urgency and accountability for meeting production and customer commitments.
Education / Experience
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment required. 1-2 years of experience working directly in a production or manufacturing operations environment preferred. Previous experience in production scheduling, manufacturing operations, or a related role preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Project Management, or a related field preferred. Experience with an ERP/MSP system is preferred; experience with ECI M1 is a strong advantage. Experience with data-driven tools such as Power BI, advanced Excel, or Artificial Intelligence is a plus.
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
