Onsite Role Summary:
The Senior Foundry Scheduler is responsible for planning and preparing production schedules for the manufacture of industrial, commercial, and marine foundry products. Reporting directly to the Foundry Manager, this position draws up master schedules, calculates operational lead times, and coordinates workflow across Patterns, Molding, and Cores departments to ensure on-time delivery and optimal shop floor capacity.
Responsibilities:
Draw up master schedules to establish operational sequences and lead times in the foundry to meet shipping deadlines based on sales forecasts and customer orders. Analyze production specifications and foundry capacity data to determine mathematical resource, tooling, and labor requirements. Plan and schedule workflow across all foundry departments (Patterns, Molding, Cores) according to established manufacturing sequences. Direct operational sequences for guidance of production floor workers. Confer regularly with department supervisors to track progress, expedite delaying operations, and adjust schedules for unforeseen shop conditions. Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including tracking pieces shipped versus pieces produced. Prepare regular production reports and generate required material lists.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or technical school equivalent; OR 3+ years of related production scheduling/planning experience and training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience planning and scheduling workflow within a foundry or metal casting environment (Patterns, Molding, Cores). Strong mathematical proficiency (basic algebra, calculations for capacity, lead times, proportions, and percentages). Computer proficiency with standard office tools, including spreadsheets, word processors, and email systems. Ability to interpret varied technical instructions in schedule, written, oral, or diagram form.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to industrial, commercial, or marine valve/metal casting manufacturing. Hands-on experience tracking shop floor KPIs and managing schedule alterations under dynamic shop conditions.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
