Job Description

Immediate opening for an administrative shipping and receiving clerk to work for large manufacturing company in Brundidge, Al. Applying candidates should have prior experience in shipping and receiving as well as strong data entry skills. This position works a Monday- Friday 6am-3:30 schedule and be available one Saturday a month for inventory. Shipping
  • Prepare, process, and verify all outbound shipments including bills of lading (BOLs), packing lists, and carrier documentation
  • Accurately record all outbound loads in the daily shipping log, including carrier, PO/load number, product description, quantity, weight, and departure time
  • Coordinate with production and scheduling to confirm shipment readiness and load sequencing
  • Verify product counts, lot codes, and temperature requirements prior to loading
  • Communicate with freight carriers and third-party logistics providers regarding pickup times and special handling requirements
  • Inspect outbound loads for proper palletization, labeling, and seal integrity
  • Maintain organized staging areas and ensure dock cleanliness and safety compliance Receiving
  • Receive and unload all inbound deliveries including raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and MRO supplies
  • Accurately complete receiving logs for all inbound shipments, documenting vendor name, PO number, item description, quantity received, condition, date, and receiver signature
  • Inspect deliveries for accuracy, damage, and compliance with purchase orders; document and escalate discrepancies immediately
  • Verify COAs (Certificates of Analysis), temperature logs, and food safety documentation for all food-grade inbound shipments
  • Enter receiving data into inventory management system promptly and accurately
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance for product holds, rejections, or inspection requirements
  • Stage received goods in proper temperature-controlled or dry storage zones per SOPs Shipping & Receiving Logs — Documentation Standards
  • Maintain complete and legible daily shipping and receiving logs in both paper and digital format
  • Ensure all log entries are time-stamped, signed, and retained per company record-keeping policy
  • Reconcile daily logs against purchase orders, BOLs, and inventory records at the close of each shift
  • Report any discrepancies between logs and physical counts to the Warehouse Operations Manager
  • Archive completed logs and supporting documents per SCFG document retention schedule Food Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) applicable to the warehouse and dock areas
  • Adhere to HACCP, SQF, or applicable food safety program requirements at all times
  • Monitor and document temperatures in temperature-controlled receiving and staging areas
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate, audit-ready records
  • Report foreign material, contamination risks, or food safety concerns immediately per reporting protocols General Warehouse Support
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and year-end inventory audits
  • Operate powered industrial equipment (pallet jack, electric pallet jack, forklift) as required and certified
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all assigned zones
  • Support cross-functional team members across shipping, receiving, production, and purchasing as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager #DP1
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
