Location:
Birmingham, AL (plant/yard environment)
Summary:
Manages daily outbound shipping activity, including order staging and verification, carrier coordination, shipping documentation, and shipment communication with internal teams and customers. Responsibilities Coordinate the daily outbound shipping schedule with order fulfillment team and production Stage, verify, and release outbound orders: check counts, product, and condition against pick lists and sales orders before loading Oversee loading of trucks; confirm loads are complete, correct, and secured Schedule carrier pickups; coordinate with drivers on arrival, loading, and departure Prepare and verify shipping documents: bills of lading, packing lists, freight paperwork Communicate shipment status, delays, and delivery confirmations to sales and customers Track open orders and ensure ship dates are met; escalate at-risk shipments Identify and report discrepancies, damages, and shortages; follow through to resolution Maintain shipping records, logs, and files Keep the shipping/staging area organized and safe Requirements Strong written and verbal communication Strong organizational skills High attention to detail and accuracy Able to work on feet in a plant/yard setting; some lifting required Reliable attendance Shipping, logistics, or manufacturing experience required

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
