Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring seamless warehouse operations. Your proactive approach will help maintain optimal inventory levels, support order fulfillment, and uphold safety standards. Duties Receive incoming shipments by inspecting deliveries against purchase orders and verifying quantities using RF scanners and basic math skills. Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload trucks efficiently. Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms to track inventory movements, update stock levels, and manage order processing. Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products accurately for delivery or transfer. Maintain organized storage by stocking items systematically in designated warehouse areas, ensuring easy access for order picking. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to support accurate stock levels. Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all loading/unloading activities and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace. Experience Previous warehouse experience with a focus on shipping & receiving operations is highly preferred. Proven ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely and efficiently. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar ERP platforms, and RF scanners is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management and order accuracy. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately. Experience in e-commerce fulfillment or warehouse distribution environments is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting while maintaining a proactive attitude.
