The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials and products are received, stored, and shipped safely and efficiently. This role supports daily warehouse operations and helps ensure timely service to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, pack, label, and process outgoing shipments. Coordinate shipping and receiving activities with carriers and vendors. Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Receive, unload, and properly store inventory and materials. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts as needed. Report damaged shipments, discrepancies, and inventory issues. Generate shipping documents, labels, and packing lists using company systems. Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas. Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment activities. Maintain accurate records of shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions. Communicate shipment status and resolve shipping or receiving issues. Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely. Assist with other warehouse and operational duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with inventory management systems. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience. Strong organizational and time management skills. Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification may be required). Basic math skills. Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move materials and packages as required. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday. Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
Work Environment:
Warehouse and distribution environment. Regular use of warehouse equipment and inventory systems. Exposure to varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
