The Shipping/Receiving Clerk performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods to the designated location.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process material in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process manuals. Ensure shipments are properly packaged, labeled with shipping information, staged for transport, and loaded onto transporting vehicles as required. Prepare and retain records of material, e.g., manifests, bills of lading, commercial invoices, etc. Sort and/or in-check material based on priority type to meet established APLs. Prepare finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in appropriate shipping containers, utilizing proper dunnage to prevent breakage or damage, and IAW packaging guidelines. Review and prioritize work requests, shipping documents, material release, and movement orders based on required delivery dates, lot and contract number, special handling, destination, and type of storage or shipment. Review documentation for accuracy and quality prior to submission to the on-site government representative. Apply various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and effecting corrective action on supply problems using a thorough knowledge of quality characteristics, measurement and testing techniques and skill. Ensure proper management of material IAW Shelf-Life Program is being carried out on all shipped materials. Reports discrepancies to appropriate leadership and/or agencies. PerformPPP&M IAW
applicable SOPs and process manuals. Performs a variety of housekeeping functions inside and outside the warehouse/work site. Support and participate in the company's Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Quality Assurance Program (QAP) to ensure superior customer service to all depots and customers. Follow strict procedures to include but not limited to all company policies, procedures, and/or established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and DLA Distribution Process Manuel's. Employees will be required to work overtime as needed to meet the contractual obligations in support of established APLs. Operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as pallet jacks, motorized forklifts, and tugs. Utilizes hand/power tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, crowbars, hammers, and power drills. Follows all federal OSHA guidelines and base/company safety and occupational health plans. Able to follow all local/base policies and/or regulations. Adherence to all TLC Policies accessed through Deltek Costpoint via the following path.
