GENERAL SUMMARY

As a Shipping Associate, you'll prepare all outgoing shipments—pulling inventory, inspecting orders, wrapping, palletizing, and crating fixtures for customers across the US. You'll operate a forklift and pallet jack, direct temporary staff in the shipping department, and maintain a safe, organized work environment that supports our production schedule. Why Join WCF? Opportunity to learn shipping and production skills Key Responsibilities Pull, inspect, and verify orders against inventory Wrap, protect, and palletize freight using straps, foam, cardboard, and stretch wrap Load/unload trucks safely using pallet jack and forklift Attach packing slips and BOLs accurately to outgoing shipments Maintain shipping area cleanliness and end-of-day organization Alert Shipping Manager to any delays or issues meeting deadlines Communicate with carriers and customers when Shipping Manager is unavailable, or needs assistance Direct and coordinate temporary staff in shipping operations Pre-shipping includes printing packing slips and creating pick tickets Post-shipment updating in computer applications, as needed Work at manufacturing production pace without sacrificing quality

What We're Looking For Experience:

Minimum 3 years shipping/receiving experience with palletized or crated freight Experience packaging non-uniform or custom products preferred (especially furniture or similar sized products preferred) Forklift and pallet jack certification or equivalent hands-on experience

Skills & Abilities:

Detail-oriented with ability to read fixture drawings and interpret tape measures (1/16" increments) Secure attention to safety—you wear and use all designated safety gear consistently Strong communication with vendors, coworkers, and temporary staff Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse environment Basic computer skills for shipping documentation and systems (Epicor, ServiceChannel and spreadsheets)

Education:

High school diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements:

Frequently stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach in warehouse settings (hot and cold temperatures) Lift and move up to 50-75 lbs regularly; Lift and move irregular sized products Work at production pace consistently

JOB COMPLEXITY

Exercise judgment within generally defined practices to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.

Full-time, non-exempt (overtime eligible)

Schedule:

Monday -Friday 8 hour shift (7am - 3:30pm), or as directed by supervisor. Schedule may include overtime and/or weekend work to complete shipments as dictated by business needs.
