Job Description

This role is being hired for a temporary 90 days fixed term. There is the possibility of extension based on need and performance. Please speak with hiring team to discuss specific details.
Position Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk coordinates the accurate and timely receipt and shipment of materials, components, and finished products. This position verifies incoming and outgoing items, prepares shipping documentation, maintains accurate inventory and transaction records using ProShop ERP or an equivalent manufacturing ERP system, and safely operates a forklift and other material-handling equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming materials, supplies, tooling, and customer-furnished products.
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
  • Inspect shipments for visible damage, shortages, incorrect quantities, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Notify Purchasing, Quality, or management of damaged, missing, or nonconforming items.
  • Enter all receiving and shipping transactions accurately and promptly into ProShop ERP or an equivalent manufacturing ERP system.
  • Upload or attach packing slips, certifications, tracking information, and other applicable documents within the ERP system.
  • Label materials and route them to the appropriate inspection, inventory, or production location.
  • Maintain proper identification, traceability, and segregation of materials.
  • Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, move, and store materials.
  • Perform required pre-use forklift inspections and report damage, defects, or unsafe operating conditions.
  • Secure and properly position loads before lifting or transporting them, and follow load-capacity limits and company forklift-safety procedures.
  • Package finished parts to prevent damage, contamination, corrosion, or deterioration during shipment.
  • Follow customer-specific packaging, labeling, routing, and shipping requirements.
  • Prepare packing slips, shipping labels, bills of lading, and carrier documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate pickups and deliveries using UPS, FedEx, local couriers, freight carriers, customer-designated carriers, and other appropriate shipping providers.
  • Select the appropriate shipping method based on delivery requirements, cost, package size, and customer instructions.
  • Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal departments regarding pickup times, delivery schedules, delays, and tracking information.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, purchase-order numbers, revision levels, and delivery addresses before shipment.
  • Confirm that required certifications, inspection reports, and other documents accompany each shipment.
  • Record shipment dates, quantities, tracking numbers, and other required information in the ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, inventory, and tracking records.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and ERP records.
  • Monitor shipping supplies and notify Purchasing when additional materials are needed.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shipping and receiving area.
  • Follow company procedures and applicable ISO 9001, AS9100, ITAR, and customer requirements.
  • Protect controlled, confidential, and customer-owned information and materials.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
  • Perform other warehouse, inventory, and administrative duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to complete company-required forklift training and maintain authorization to operate a forklift.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with email and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn and accurately use ProShop ERP or an equivalent manufacturing ERP system for shipping, receiving, document management, and inventory transactions.
  • Ability to accurately read purchase orders, packing slips, shipping instructions, and part numbers.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet shipping deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality. Preferred Qualifications
  • Shipping and receiving experience in an aerospace, defense, medical-device, or precision-manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience using ProShop ERP or another manufacturing ERP system.
  • Previous forklift and pallet-jack experience.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments and prepare required customs, carrier, and export documentation in accordance with customer instructions and applicable regulations.
  • Knowledge of
AS9100, ISO
9001, ITAR, material traceability, and customer-specific packaging requirements. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance or material-handling equipment used for heavier items.
  • Ability to climb on and off a forklift and safely operate it for extended periods when required.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, move, stack, and store materials.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment where noise, machinery, vehicle traffic, and temperature changes may be present.
Work Environment This position works primarily in a manufacturing shipping and receiving area and regularly interacts with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Customer Service, and outside carriers. Employees must follow all company safety, quality, security, forklift-operation, and material-handling procedures.
