Job Description

The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for packaging finished customer parts, preparing shipments and shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring orders are accurately prepared and shipped on time. This position also involves receiving materials, verifying incoming shipments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with general administrative duties. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in both an office and manufacturing environment, has strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and can manage multiple responsibilities independently. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesShipping & Packaging Package finished parts according to work orders and customer packaging requirements. Verify customer information, PO number, part number, revision, quantity, and shipping requirements before shipment. Prepare packing slips, shipping labels, Bills of Lading, and other shipping documents. Prepare documentation for domestic and international shipments. Process shipments through UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, and customer shipping accounts. Schedule pickups and coordinate with shipping carriers as needed. Ensure finished parts are properly packaged and protected from damage. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and packaging area. Track shipments and provide shipping information as needed. Receiving & Materials Receive and unpack incoming materials, parts, and supplies. Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documents. Check part numbers, materials, quantities, and order information for accuracy. Identify and report shortages, damage, or discrepancies. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on expected deliveries. Assist with ordering materials and supplies. Communicate with vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and discrepancies. Administrative Support Answer and route incoming telephone calls and take messages. Scan, copy, file, and organize shipping, receiving, and production documents. Prepare and print job paperwork, packing slips, labels, and other documents. Perform basic data entry and computer tasks. Check and respond to routine emails as assigned. Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records. Provide general administrative support to management and office staff. Assist with other duties as needed in a small manufacturing environment. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Previous shipping, receiving, packaging, warehouse, manufacturing, or administrative experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work with part numbers, PO numbers, quantities, and shipping documents. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, email, scanning, and PDF documents. Ability to read and follow work orders, job travelers, packaging instructions, and shipping requirements. Basic math skills and ability to calculate quantities, freight information, and dimensional measurements. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Comfortable working in both an office and manufacturing/shop environment. Ability to lift, move, and package materials as required. Able to work effectively as part of a small team.
Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour
