Regulated manufacturing / life sciences Position Summary / Job Overview We are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Specialist II to support warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling operations within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, moving, inspecting, documenting, and distributing materials and products while ensuring accuracy, safety, quality, and compliance with company procedures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on warehouse or material handling experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely with manual and powered equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts. This position is well-suited for someone who is organized, reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse or production setting. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist II will work with minimal supervision, support workflow improvements, and may help mentor junior team members on proper material handling, safety procedures, and equipment operation. Responsibilities Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and storage locations using manual and powered equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse tools. Move materials to designated areas within the warehouse or production floor while ensuring proper handling, placement, and organization. Receive, store, pick, pack, label, and distribute materials and products according to company procedures. Perform specialized handling of hazardous, sensitive, or regulated materials in compliance with safety and handling protocols. Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records. Use inventory management systems or software to track materials, update records, and report discrepancies. Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, documented, and handled in accordance with company policies. Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality, damage, defects, or discrepancies and report concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor. Prepare materials for shipment, including packing, labeling, documentation, and ensuring compliance with shipping requirements. Support quality control practices to reduce errors and improve operational efficiency. Follow all safety protocols and regulations while handling materials and operating warehouse equipment. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, damaged materials, or equipment concerns promptly. Participate in safety improvement initiatives and support safe material handling practices. Mentor or train junior material handling staff on warehouse processes, safety procedures, equipment operation, and best practices. Collaborate with warehouse, production, quality, and other internal teams to support smooth daily operations. Act as a point of contact for questions or concerns related to shipping, receiving, inventory, or material handling processes. Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently according to company procedures. Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting, escalating equipment issues to the Warehouse Supervisor as needed. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the warehouse, shipping/receiving, and equipment areas. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory, logistics, material handling, or production support role. Experience loading, unloading, moving, storing, labeling, and documenting materials in a warehouse or production environment. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar warehouse equipment; certification may be required. Basic computer skills with the ability to use inventory systems, shipping systems, or other warehouse-related software. Basic math skills for inventory counts, recordkeeping, and material tracking. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory, labels, documentation, and shipments. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow written procedures, safety requirements, and company policies. Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating with team members. Ability to work in a warehouse or production environment where temperature, noise, dust, dirt, and airborne particles may vary. Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods throughout the warehouse. Ability to bend, reach, handle equipment, and perform manual material handling tasks as required. Willingness to follow safety protocols when working around machinery, equipment, and potentially hazardous materials. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing, medical device, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, laboratory, or quality-focused environment. Forklift certification or prior powered equipment operation experience. Experience with inventory management systems, ERP systems, or shipping/receiving software. Experience handling hazardous or sensitive materials in compliance with safety procedures. Experience supporting safety audits, quality inspections, or warehouse process improvements. Experience training or mentoring junior warehouse or material handling team members. #
