Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist works in the warehouse. Their primary responsibility is safety and to ensure incoming receipts and outgoing shipments are processed correctly, efficiently, and on time. Ensure safety is the #1 priority in the warehouse (per OSHA standards). Receive materials into the ERP system and forward per the procedure. Ensure the paperwork is correct and properly scanned into the ERP system. Adhere to Dock-to-Stock program as directed by Quality. Handle RMA materials including Clean in Place, ERP receipt, and appropriate forwarding. Prepare, stage, and ship materials as instructed. Verify paperwork is correct and material is located in the correct Bin. Periodically review shipping Kanban items to ensure supply of routine materials. Prepare reports and assist in configuring the ERP to enable broad visibility of shipping and receiving performance. Adhere to a Clean Floor Policy as a standard to maintain efficiency in both shipping and receiving. Train with INV Control to ensure compliance and understanding of Cycle Count process. Work with the Warehouse Manager to minimize exceptions in the warehouse through organization, preparation, and staging. Assist the Warehouse Manager in formally documenting procedures and work instructions related to shipping and receiving. Participate in the Safety Committee as requested and escalate and resolve safety concerns immediately. Other duties as assigned. Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to foster internal relationships across the corporation. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. ERP Experience (NetSuite, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Epicor, or equivalent). Computer skills, including experience in MS Office suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently or as a member of the team. Naturally a good problem solver who looks to provide solutions upstream. Experience in using pallet jacks, powered pallet jacks, and forklifts. Forklift Operator's License or Safety Training a plus!
