POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely movement of material in and out of the facility. This includes receiving incoming shipments, picking and packing customer orders, counting and weighing parts, preparing shipments for outbound carriers, and maintaining an organized, clean, and safe warehouse. This is an entry-level position; no prior manufacturing experience is required and full on-the-job training is provided.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving Unload incoming deliveries from trucks using a pallet jack, hand truck, or forklift. Verify incoming material against packing slips and purchase orders for part number, quantity, and condition. Report shortages, overages, and visible damage to the supervisor or purchasing before material is put away. Enter receipts into the company ERP system and route paperwork and certifications to the appropriate department. Move received material to inspection, stock locations, or the production floor as directed. Order Picking, Counting & Packing Pick customer orders from stock locations using pick lists, job travelers, and shipping paperwork. Count and weigh parts accurately using counting scales; verify piece counts against order quantities. Package parts into boxes, bags, and cartons according to customer packaging and labeling requirements. Apply correct labels, part identification, and lot or job numbers to every container. Palletize, band, and stretch-wrap finished skids so that material arrives undamaged. Shipping Prepare packing slips, shipping labels, and carrier documentation for outbound orders. Stage and load outbound shipments for UPS, FedEx, LTL, and customer-arranged carriers. Confirm that shipments match the order and that all required paperwork accompanies the load. Record shipping transactions in the ERP system and file completed paperwork. Inventory & General Warehouse Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories; report discrepancies promptly. Keep stock locations organized, correctly labeled, and accessible. Break down and dispose of packaging waste, and keep the shipping area, aisles, and dock clean and free of hazards. Maintain and restock shipping supplies such as boxes, tape, bags, banding, and labels. Operate a pallet jack and forklift safely after completing in-house certification. Follow all company safety rules, wear required personal protective equipment, and immediately report unsafe conditions. Follow documented work instructions and quality procedures to maintain lot traceability and support the company's AS9100 quality system. Assist other departments and perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and understand shipping paperwork, part numbers, and written work instructions in English. Basic math skills — counting, addition, subtraction, and unit conversion. Basic computer skills; ability to learn the company ERP system (Epicor) with training. Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and willingness to follow procedures exactly as written. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred (Not Required) Prior warehouse, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing experience. Experience operating a forklift or pallet jack. Familiarity with an ERP or barcode scanning system. Experience with small hardware, fasteners, or high-volume piece counting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly lift and carry up to 30 lbs; occasionally move heavier material with mechanical assistance. Stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop for the majority of an eight-hour shift. Push and pull loaded pallet jacks and carts. Repetitive use of hands for packing, taping, banding, and counting. Visual acuity sufficient to read part numbers, labels, and scale displays.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
