Job Description

Position Overview This position will initially be a temporary position for a maximum of three months during the training period but has a potential to be a permanent position up to 40 hours per week. The Shipping Assistant will work closely with the Shipping Manager and President to prioritize and coordinate daily shipments based on customer schedules and month-end requirements. This position will also work closely with the Quality Manager and Inspection Department to ensure parts released from final inspection are properly transferred into stock and prepared for shipment. The ideal candidate must have excellent computer skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow customer-specific shipping requirements . Aerospace industry experience is helpful but not required. Key Responsibilities Monitor daily customer schedules by accessing customer portals and downloading current schedules Compare customer schedule information in the ERP system ( JobBOSS ) with Finished Goods Inventory (FGI) and Work in Process (WIP) to plan upcoming shipments and meet required due dates Monitor forward-looking schedules for potential releases, shortages, and inventory requirements Determine and complete daily shipping activities based on customer priorities Verify final quantities when transferring completed parts into stock Transfer parts to shipping travelers and ensure all required documentation is complete Pick parts from the ERP system for shipment Prepare all necessary domestic and international shipping documentation according to customer requirements, including: Packing lists, Invoices, Certificates of Conformance, Commercial invoices/customs documentation, Part-marking labels, Barcodes Pull parts from stock and perform final quantity verification prior to shipment Package and box parts according to customer-specific packaging and part-marking requirements Create shipping labels using FedEx, UPS, DHL , and customer-specific systems Arrange carrier pickups as needed Verify Finished Goods Inventory levels against required ship quantities and determine whether shipments should be shipped complete or partial Communicate with the Quality Department and/or Quality Manager to ensure all required release activities are completed, including QRM, Solumina , and other applicable requirements Enter and maintain accurate shipping information in JobBOSS and/or other spreadsheets, including tracking numbers, quantities, customers, and other applicable information Conduct Finished Goods Inventory counts as needed Assist the Shipping Manager with other shipping-related duties as required Skills & Experience The successful candidate should: Be available to work up to 40 hours per week and have flexibility for overtime when required Have a willingness to learn and follow established procedures with proper training Be able to work effectively under pressure and meet customer deadlines Have reliable transportation Have excellent attendance and a positive, dependable attitude Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy Be able to work independently with minimal supervision Be able to read and understand customer requirements and shipping instructions Be able to accurately punch in/out of shipping travelers Be able to read and write English Have strong computer skills and the ability to learn ERP systems and customer portals U.S. Citizenship required in accordance with applicable Aerospace policies Previous aerospace/manufacturing or shipping experience is a plus, but not required

Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
