: Full Time -Hourly Exempt Job Summary:
A Shipping Clerk is responsible for all aspects of packaging of finished goods, order pulling, shipment of orders (U.S. and International), and warehouse organization.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment: Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Pull orders from generated reports.
- Affix shipping labels on packed orders/shipments
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operate forklift truck or use hand truck/pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments.
- May receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have current forklift certification issued within the last 3 years when operating a forklift.
- Minimal 1 year experience operating as a Shipping Clerk.
- Must be able to read and comprehend work orders in English.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled building which may be quite cold in the winter and close to 100 degrees in the summer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Neatness and organizational skills are required.
- Must be able to operate a manual pallet jack.
- PC skills to use FedEx, UPS, StarShip Software, VShip Software and print labels.
