The Shipping & Warehouse Manager is expected to be actively involved in day-to-day warehouse and shipping operations, including packing orders, moving product, loading and unloading shipments, resolving shipping issues, and supporting the team wherever needed. The right candidate will be comfortable leading employees while also performing the same physical work required of the team. Responsibilities Lead and organize daily shipping operations Supervise, train, and support shipping and warehouse employees Work directly alongside employees to pack and prepare customer orders Verify orders for accuracy before shipment Coordinate parcel, LTL, freight, and other outbound shipments Build and maintain relationships with shipping carriers, freight providers, packaging suppliers, and material vendors Negotiate directly with shipping and material vendors to secure competitive rates, improve service levels, and reduce operating costs Review freight, shipping, packaging, and material costs and identify opportunities for savings Load and unload trucks and deliveries Handle heavier or oversized products when necessary Ensure products are packaged properly to reduce shipping damage Resolve shipping errors, damaged shipments, and carrier-related issues Maintain an organized and efficient shipping area Monitor workload and assign employees based on daily shipping volume Maintain adequate shipping supplies and packaging materials Assist with picking, stocking, receiving, and general warehouse duties when needed Use warehouse scanners, shipping software, and computer systems Help develop and enforce procedures that improve shipping accuracy, productivity, and efficiency Maintain a clean and safe work environment Hold employees accountable for productivity, accuracy, attendance, and workplace standards What We Are Looking For Previous shipping, warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience working directly with shipping carriers, freight companies, or vendors Strong understanding of packing, shipping, and freight procedures Comfortable negotiating rates, pricing, and service terms with vendors Comfortable working in a physically active warehouse environment Ability and willingness to lift, carry, move, and organize products throughout the workday Comfortable loading and unloading trucks Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Able to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail Comfortable using computers, barcode scanners, and shipping software Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to take ownership of the department Willing to step in and work alongside the team instead of managing exclusively from an office
