Tallahassee, FL Job Details Full-time 23 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Outlook High school diploma or GED Cross-functional collaboration Full Job Description The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and managing the shipping process, ensuring that products are accurately prepared, packed, and dispatched to meet customer orders and company standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Packages material for shipment ensuring that it arrives at the customer's facility undamaged; verifies contents against order slips to confirm accuracy. Processes shipping labels in accordance with the customer order and shipping instructions, to include shipping method and delivery address. Schedules and coordinates shipments with carriers; verifies that shipping documentation, such as bills of lading and customs paperwork, is completed correctly. Coordinates with internal departments to resolve any issues related to shipping and to keep all stakeholders informed about shipment status. Tracks and manages shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery; addresses and resolves any issues that arise during the shipping process such as delays, damages, lost shipments or incorrect deliveries; investigates root causes of these issues and coordinates with carriers, suppliers, and other relevant parties for quick and effective resolution. Monitors shipping exceptions and costs; identifies opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
Performs basic inventory tasks:
regular Cycle Counts, pick assembly kits. Assists with assembly of AIM Kits. Operates equipment used in the shipping process such as a Forklift; assists with loading and unloading palletized shipments. Assists with stocking warehouse inventory. Participates in cross training within the department to provide support with Service Order processing, receiving, pulling kits, and assembly. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Engages in process improvements using 5 S, Lean Manufacturing and PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) methodologies. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manufacturing Management.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous warehouse/shipping experience, preferred. Requires a consistent and dependable work history, ideally reflecting 3-5 years of tenure with each previous employer. Experience with a forklift/lift truck, preferred. MS Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook) proficiency. Exceptional organizational skills with precise attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with others outside of the department.
