The Role:
The Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods into and out of the organization. This position is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, labeling and distribution of products and materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating with various departments to support operational needs. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to verify shipment contents, quantities, inspect for damages, and document all transactions accurately. The Receiving Clerk also helps maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment, contributing to overall supply chain efficiency. Ultimately, this position supports the company's ability to meet customer demands and maintain smooth logistical operations. This role will be fully onsite out of our Columbus facility.
Job Responsibilities Your Impact:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality. Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are correctly labeled and documented for timely delivery. Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including data entry into inventory management systems. Coordinate with warehouse staff and other departments to manage inventory levels and resolve discrepancies. Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move goods within the facility. Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations in all shipping and receiving processes. Assist in periodic inventory counts and audits to maintain stock accuracy. Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to schedule shipments and resolve issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications What You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in a shipping and receiving or warehouse role. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Office. Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
What We Need:
Experience with barcode scanning and warehouse management systems (WMS). Forklift certification or experience operating other material handling equipment. Knowledge of shipping regulations and documentation requirements. Previous experience in a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with vendors and internal teams.
