Shipping and Receiving Clerk - 2nd Shift Crown Bakeries - 2.0 Smyrna, GA Job Details 14 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. Process and document all incoming and outgoing shipments using inventory management systems. Scheduling and making the needed arrangements for inbound and outbound shipments. Resolve shipment issues by communicating with vendors, carriers, and internal teams regarding delays or damaged goods. Prepare orders for shipment, including labeling, packing, and organizing freight. Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and inventory levels based on company SOP's. Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Collaborate with warehouse associates, drivers, and other departments to ensure efficient operations. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to management. Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits. Keep warehouse clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience:
Previous experience in food manufacturing or warehouse shipping/receiving role preferred. Familiarity with manufacturing management systems and order fulfillment processes Loading and unloading trucks using sit-down forklift and/or hand truck Coordinate activities of warehouse operations to ensure effective processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments to meet customer requirements
Physical Demands:
Work in a noisy environment for length of shift. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds. Reach above shoulder height. Able to bend, twist, stand, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for the length of shift.
