Position Summary:

The basic function of Packaging Shipping Control is to verify and keep records on outgoing shipments; prepare items for shipment; and compile records concerned with storing, issuing and shipping product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Compare identifying information and counts, weigh, or measure items on outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Determine method of packaging and shipping. Affix shipping labels on packed cartons and stamps identifying information on cartons. Assemble cardboard containers or select pre-assembled container. Insert items into containers and packs with suitable packing material to prevent handling damage during shipment or storage. Post weights and shipping charges if necessary on paperwork. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Prepare product for shipment/storage by wrapping, bagging, tagging, or binding according to product specification. Consistently use GOLD (Geater Operations Linking Database) for accurate work instructions.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
