About Us:

Position Summary:
Performs shipping and receiving duties. Verifies and keeps records on shipments. Counts, weighs and measures items to verify against bills of lading, invoices, etc. Packs or unpacks items and routes to departments. Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Packs all products for either stock or shipment Makes arrangements for common carrier pick-ups Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer purchase order which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Warehouse Supervisor Procures skids, pallets and other related packaging material requirements Picks all finished goods orders for shipments Creates material order requirements for foam, lumber, plastic film, cartons, etc. as required Processes "ship complete" requirements for billing purposes Prepares weekly inventory level data from performed audits Assists Warehouse Supervisor in maintaining accuracy in inventory levels by means of specific stock locations and timely submittals of shipped items Assists Warehouse Supervisor in the development of efficient methods for packaging and handling of product Forwards all daily shipment activity to Customer Service in a timely manner Check all merchandise per purchase orders or credit card charges pertaining to quantity, types and units received Prepare receiving reports which involves data received, vendor, PO number, number of cartons, etc. Maintain accurate files on all packages received and returned Receives and processes all defective items returned for replacement or credit (RGA) Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments Rejects damaged items Records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
Familiar with and able to interpret packing slips Must be familiar with completing bills of lading and other forms used and required by major freight carriers Familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements Strong interpersonal and communication skills Must be detail oriented and pay close attention to detail Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) Must take and pass written math test Must take and pass forklift certification Ability to lift approximately 75 lbs.
Required education and experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training Equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
