Job Description

Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, preparing, and shipping goods. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of logistics by maintaining the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments while supporting an efficient and safe flow of materials. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk works closely with the production team and Warehouse Hands to ensure product availability, on-time shipments, and an organized flow of materials.
Training:
We are estimating 5-6 weeks training to be done in our Chicago division. Key Responsibilities Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments against packing slips or delivery documents. Prepare, package, and ship orders according to customer and carrier requirements. Verify the accuracy of quantities, products, and the condition of incoming and outgoing goods. Report any discrepancies, damage, or non-conformities to the supervisor. Label shipments and complete shipping documentation as required. Collaborate with the production and warehouse teams to ensure an efficient flow of materials. Assist with the safe loading and unloading of trucks. Maintain clean, organized, and safe receiving and shipping areas. Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Safely operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) when required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Minimum of one (1) year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or material handling. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, moving, and handling materials. Knowledge of workplace health and safety best practices. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and work collaboratively as part of a team. Experience operating material handling equipment is considered an asset.
