- Job Description This role combines shipping, receiving, and production support in a food manufacturing environment.
You will operate an electric sit-down forklift to move materials throughout the facility, handle incoming and outgoing shipments, assist with production tasks, and accurately complete documentation related to inventory and shipment tracking. Responsibilities Operate an electric sit-down forklift to move materials safely and efficiently throughout the facility. Load, unload, and transport products in support of shipping, receiving, and production operations. Handle materials weighing up to 5060 pounds regularly while following proper lifting techniques. Assist with production duties as needed, including material staging, packaging, and general support. Accurately complete paperwork and documentation related to shipments, inventory, and tracking. Track incoming and outgoing shipments and maintain accurate inventory records. Work in tight warehouse and production areas while consistently maintaining safety standards. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company procedures at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in both warehouse and production areas. Support team members in meeting daily production, shipping, and receiving goals. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate material flow and shipment schedules. Manage time efficiently to complete tasks and meet operational deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Essential Skills Previous forklift experience, preferably operating an electric sit-down forklift. Experience working in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or production environments. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 5060 pounds on a consistent basis. Comfort working in tight spaces and fast-paced warehouse and production areas. Experience with shipment tracking paperwork and documentation. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in inventory and documentation. Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures and standards. Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Dependability and reliability in attendance and task completion. Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet daily goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) experience preferred, particularly in food or production environments. Experience in production support, material handling, and packaging. Skills in inventory tracking and inventory control. Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including order selection and picking. Ability to perform documentation and recordkeeping with accuracy and completeness. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a focus on supporting a small, close-knit team. Interest in long-term career growth within production, warehouse, and shipping operations. You will regularly operate an electric sit-down forklift, handle materials up to 5060 pounds, and work in a fast-paced setting with active shipping, receiving, and production activities. The facility functions like a large-scale kitchen, mixing and mass-producing treats such as gummies, caramels, marshmallows, and dessert syrups, and requires adherence to cleanliness and organization standards typical of food production. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Plainfield, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00
