Overview The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished products into and out of FRANTZ Manufacturing Company. This position plays an important role in ensuring that every product leaving FRANTZ meets our expectations for quality, accuracy, packaging, and presentation . As one of the last people to handle our products before they reach the customer, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk serves as a final checkpoint and takes pride in ensuring every shipment represents FRANTZ well. Responsibilities Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and products against accompanying documentation. Inspect incoming shipments for visible damage, shortages, overages, or other discrepancies and report concerns promptly. Safely unload incoming trucks and deliveries. Label, stage, organize, and move incoming materials to the appropriate locations. Pull, stage, and prepare finished products for shipment. Verify that the correct product and quantity are being shipped. Perform a final visual inspection of products and packaging before shipment. Identify and report damaged, incorrect, improperly packaged, or questionable products before they leave the facility. Ensure products are clean, properly packaged, protected, and presented professionally. Properly package, palletize, wrap, strap, and secure products to prevent damage during transportation. Ensure labels and other required identification are properly placed, legible, and professional in appearance. Load outgoing trucks safely and efficiently. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely. Maintain accurate staging and organization of incoming and outgoing materials. Assist with inventory counts and locating materials as needed. Communicate product, packaging, or quality concerns to the appropriate department before product leaves the facility. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping/receiving and dock area. Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist drivers, vendors, carriers, and fellow employees professionally and courteously. Perform other duties and provide support within Shipping & Receiving as needed. Quality & Customer Focus The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is the final checkpoint before FRANTZ products leave our facility. Every shipment should reflect the quality of the FRANTZ name. The person in this position is expected to take ownership of the condition and presentation of outgoing shipments and ask: Is this the correct product and quantity? Does the product appear to meet our quality expectations? Is it clean and free from obvious damage? Is it packaged appropriately for transportation? Is the pallet or package secure and professionally presented? Are labels straight, legible, and correctly placed? Would we be proud for our customer to receive this shipment? If something doesn't look right, stop and ask before it ships . Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or logistics roles with familiarity in warehouse distribution processes. Strong knowledge of inventory management software (such as ERP systems or AS400) and shipping logistics procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes. Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers safely. Experience packaging and preparing industrial or manufactured products for shipment is a plus. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, weighing packages, and calculating shipment dimensions or costs. Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and external partners. Knowledge of international trade regulations and trade compliance standards is a plus. Physical ability to lift heavy items regularly and stand for extended periods during shifts.
