Job Description
PURPOSE The purpose of the Process Operator, Distribution position is to ensure material flow practices within the Central Distribution Center are consistent with the methodology of Japan 's distribution/production systems. The Process Operator, Distribution will be responsible for ensuring corporate targets for on-time delivery to the requested date are met and to adhere to the "Never Say No" practices with the Sales Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Schedule all incoming orders in a manner to meet all requested ship dates for finished good items
- Communicate concerns about the ability to meet requested ship dates with the Sales Division
- Negotiate delivery with inside sales personnel to meet customer demands
- Offer options/solutions to meet custome r delivery demands
- Work with NACW management to proactively minimize or eliminate order flow issues to satisfy customer demand
- Procure all non-KOGO inventory for direct SMC customers or distributors
- Expedite orders for non-registered products with vendors for direct SMC cu stomers or distributors
- Work with NACW supervision on expediting orders throughout the day
- Communicate inability to meet requested dates with the Sales Division - offer alternatives and provide root cause
- Maintain an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company's standards
- Other duties as assigned by the department manager
- Higher-level tasks may be assigned for development purposes All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Physical demands require the person to sit for extended periods at the workstation
- The work environment will expose the employee to the following elements: noise, heat, cold, dust
- Work stations will be located on the Production floor
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- 1-2 years of experience in a distribution environment
- Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft and AS400 computer applications
- Basic understanding of scheduling and inventory processes
- Basic customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Must pass Material Status skill level test
- Must pass Inventory Discrepancy skill level test
- Must pass Accuracy test For internal use only: Warehouse001
