Job Description
Central Equipment Company is a 3rd generation, family owned agriculture/outdoor power equipment dealership in Lexington, Kentucky celebrating 50 years of business. We are an authorized dealer for Kubota, Exmark, Stihl, Boss, Ferris, Honda, Cub Cadet, Wright, Landpride, Bear Cat, Billy Goat, Woods, Kohler, Krone, H&S, Briggs, Kawasaki, and many more. We're looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to handle the flow of parts and freight in and out of our building. Everything the dealership sells passes through this position, so accuracy matters — a part received to the wrong number or shelved in the wrong place costs us a sale down the line.
What You'll Do Receiving:
Unload incoming freight and verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders Inspect for damage and shortages; document and report discrepancies same day Enter received items into our inventory system accurately Put away stock in correct bin locations Break down and dispose of packaging; keep the receiving area clear and organizedShipping:
Pull, pack, and label outgoing parts orders Prepare shipping documents and coordinate carrier pickups Process warranty returns and vendor core returns, including paperwork and tracking Stage and track outbound freightGeneral:
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse and dock area Assist the parts department with counts and stocking as needed Operate a forklift and/or pallet jack safely What We're Looking For Extremely organized. You'll be tracking dozens of open shipments, backorders, and returns at once. Nothing can fall through the cracks. Fast-paced. Freight comes in whether or not yesterday's is put away. This job goes to someone who keeps moving and doesn't let the dock back up. Strong investigative skills. When a shipment is short, a part number doesn't match, or an order shows received but isn't on the shelf, you'll be the one who tracks it down — through packing slips, purchase orders, carrier records, and the system — until you find where it went. Very detail-oriented. Catching a wrong part number or a miscount before it hits the shelf is the whole job. A single digit off costs us a sale later. Dependable and on time — this position sets the pace for the rest of the department Basic computer skills for data entry and shipping software Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and stay on your feet throughout the shift Valid driver's license Forklift experience preferred; will train the right person Familiarity with farm and lawn equipment a plusSchedule:
