Shipping and Receiving Associate Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Associate works in a busy warehouse environment handling incoming and outgoing electrical supplies. This role focuses on accurately receiving, unpacking, and stocking products, as well as packaging and shipping orders ranging from small labeled parts to large electrical spools. The position requires frequent use of computer systems and scanners to process shipments, track inventory, and coordinate with vendors, while ensuring all orders are correct and completed on time. Responsibilities Work in the shipping or receiving areas of the warehouse, depending on operational needs. Package and ship electrical supplies, including small boxes of parts and large electrical spools of non-live wiring. Unload incoming trucks in the loading or receiving areas using appropriate material handling equipment. Input products into the computer system using RF scanners and basic data entry to ensure accurate inventory records. Use computer systems to set up shipments, create shipping documents, and coordinate with vendors and carriers. Track inventory levels and assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and warehouse inventory checks. Unpack incoming orders, verify quantities and item accuracy against documentation, and ensure all items are correct before processing. Pick and pack orders for shipment according to work orders and customer requirements. Load outgoing shipments onto trucks or flatbeds safely and efficiently. Handle materials using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment as needed. Perform shipping and receiving documentation and maintain accurate records of all transactions. Follow established procedures for inventory control, shipping, and receiving to minimize errors and losses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rayville, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
