Receiving Specialist Company Overview Pierce Aluminum is a leading aluminum service center serving high‑tech, marine, transportation, manufacturing, and aerospace industries nationwide. Our commitment—The Difference is Service—guides every part of our operation. The Receiving Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring materials flow accurately and efficiently into our warehouse. Position Summary The Receiving Specialist is responsible for receiving inbound materials, verifying documentation, updating inventory systems, and placing materials in their proper warehouse locations. This role requires strong attention to detail, safe operation of material‑handling equipment, and the ability to maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced metals distribution environment. Key Responsibilities Receive incoming aluminum material, packages, and supplies Verify shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and delivery documentation Scan packing slips and receiving documents into the company's inventory system Update inventory records to ensure accurate counts and material traceability Safely unload and move materials using forklifts (sit‑down and stand‑up) and overhead cranes Place materials in designated storage locations following warehouse layout and safety guidelines Assist with stenciling aluminum plate, sheet, bar, and extrusions as needed Communicate discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory issues to warehouse leadership Maintain a clean, organized receiving area and follow all safety and PPE requirements Support general warehouse operations when required Minimum Qualifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment Solid communication and interpersonal skills Ability to lift 50 lbs. and safely handle heavy materials Ability to qualify for forklift and overhead crane operation Basic computer skills for inventory entry and document scanning Experience in metals, manufacturing, or warehouse receiving is a plus but not required Basic math and measurement skills (tape measure, fractions, decimals) Benefits Pierce Aluminum offers a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits, including: 401(k) with company contribution Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Flexible spending accounts Short‑ and long‑term disability Tuition reimbursement Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time Equal Employment Opportunity Pierce Aluminum is an equal opportunity employer.
