Overview We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that all goods are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Your expertise will support seamless warehouse operations, optimize inventory management, and uphold high standards of customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and a proactive approach to logistics and distribution processes. Duties Coordinate the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery documentation. Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, and labeling products according to specified requirements, ensuring proper packaging for safe transport. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload goods efficiently. Utilize inventory management software and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to update stock levels, track shipments, and maintain accurate records. Manage shipping logistics by coordinating with carriers, scheduling pickups, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards. Perform data entry related to shipping and receiving transactions using warehouse management systems like AS400 or similar platforms. Conduct regular stock counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and support inventory management efforts to maintain optimal stock levels. Collaborate with customer service teams to address shipment inquiries, provide tracking information, and resolve delivery issues promptly. Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all warehouse operations and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Support order fulfillment processes including picking & packing orders for e-commerce platforms or wholesale clients. Skills Proficiency in warehouse management systems (such as ERP platforms like AS400 or similar) and inventory management software. Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, warehousing operations, and international trade regulations. Experience with order picking & packing, stocking procedures, and the use of equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. Excellent data entry skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to inventory counts, weights, or shipment dimensions. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries professionally. Familiarity with trade compliance standards relevant to international shipping processes. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics roles is highly desirable.
