: Shipping
REPORTS TO
: Manager, Warehouse
HOURS/SCHEDULE
: Monday - Friday, 7:00a-3:30p (overtime as needed)
HOURLY/SALARY STATUS
: Hourly, Non-Exempt
POSITION OVERVIEW
: The Shipping Specialist I is responsible for staging and palletizing materials for shipment, loading and unloading trailers, maintaining inventory records, and verifying quantities of materials received against shipping documents. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
: Pick items for orders and complete shipping documents as needed Load and unload trailers as they arrive at the facility Stage materials and pallets for shipments Inspect product as it arrives and report any problems to Quality Anticipate and support company needs including staging work in advance when possible, to reduce downtime Maintain warehouse, keeping material neat and accessible and inventory accurate Support 6S efforts, removing trash and recyclables as necessary Participate in idea implementation initiatives with team Maintain high level of safety at all times
COMPETENCIES
: Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Effective time management skills Strong organizational skills Good interpersonal communication skills and professional demeanor Team player with the ability to maintain good working relations with internal teams Strong attention to detail Process improvement ability Strong computer skills Experience with IFS ERP system is preferred
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
: High school diploma or equivalent Fork truck operators license, permit or the ability to obtain one Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities are shifting regularly
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
: Able to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights up to 50 lbs.
