Full Job Description Summary:
This position prepares items for shipment. Verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Counts, weighs, measures and/or compares identifying information of incoming and outgoing shipments for verification against bill of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Determines the appropriate method of shipment. Affixes shipping labels, stamps/stencils/or glues identifying information and shipping instructions on crates and/or containers. Posts weights and affixes appropriate postage. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and correspondence with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to proper department. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Stage material for production. Assist with period-end inventory. Moves material from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. Maintain 5S standards.
