Grand Rapids Foam Technologies (GRFT) is currently recruiting a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for its manufacturing facility located in Wyoming, MI. GRFT provides fabricated and molded polyurethane form solutions for a variety of industrial customers including durable medical goods, commercial furniture and mass transit. This position is responsible for receiving incoming material, moving and storing of material/product and shipping per customer requirements. Training period : Approximately 30-day training period on 1st shift, M-F, 6:00am - 2:00pm

Regular Shift:

This is a split-shift role with the standard shift time being M-F, 10:00am - 6:00pm

Essential Functions:

Unloads and manages incoming raw materials verifying count, packing slips, bills of lading, freight bills and condition of material upon delivery. Ensure shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other records are accurate to meet receiving schedules and requirements. Monitor incoming shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Report any maintenance requirements associated with material handling equipment and loading dock equipment. Organize and monitor loading dock and raw goods storage areas to ensure minimal material damage and waste. Responsible for the movement of raw materials, components, in process, and finished products throughout the facility using hi-lo, pallet jack, carts and other tools as necessary. Complete all necessary inventory counts and appropriate paperwork. Return skids, pallet jacks, and other tools to designated places, and deliver scrap materials when necessary. Efficiently load and unload trucks by hand or by using equipment, such as pallet jacks or hi-los. Use scanners and/or paperwork to verify correct shipment of parts and create proper documentation for all outgoing product. Pack product in proper quantities in the appropriate containers per specifications. Examine and inspect materials and products to ensure quality specifications are met. Assemble, line, and pad cartons and containers as required. Ensure accurate labeling and product count on outgoing products. Read QATS to determine inspection criteria and verify identification numbers and product type on outgoing products. Discard or route defective products or contaminants for rework or reuse and notify Shipping/ Receiving Supervisor. Record errors/ rejections found during packing process Report finished goods production (labels) in ERP system Process and submit Advance Ship Notices Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lock Out, and all other Safety requirements. Consistently adhere to and support company policies, Work Instructions and/or other procedures, and ISO requirements. Compliance with all local, state and federal requirements such as:

OSHA, EEO, DOT

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Current hi-lo/forklift license required, or ability to obtain and maintain certification as a condition of employment. Basic proficiency with computers, email, and office productivity software, including word processing and spreadsheet tools.
