Full Job Description SCOPE:
Performs routine shipping and receiving duties to support daily warehouse and production operations. Responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of materials, parts, and finished goods in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and work instructions. Works under direct supervision and follows defined schedules and priorities.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Receives incoming materials and verifies quantities, part numbers, and condition against shipping documentation. Records receiving transactions accurately in the ERP or inventory system. Prepares outbound shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and staging materials according to instructions. Loads and unloads trucks using appropriate material handling equipment. Moves materials to designated storage or production areas. Maintains accurate inventory records and assists with cycle counts and physical inventories. Reports damaged materials, shortages, or discrepancies to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor. Ensures materials are properly identified, labeled, and stored. Follows established safety procedures, including forklift, PPE, and material handling requirements. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area. Supports production and internal departments by ensuring timely material movement. Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
1-3 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred. Basic knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes. Ability to accurately read packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels, and part numbers. Experience using ERP or inventory systems preferred (SAP a plus). Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of standard office software. Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials within safety guidelines. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work overtime as required.
