The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for the efficient and accurate completion of day-to-day shipping & receiving duties in a busy and growing manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
As the Shipping & Receiving Associate you will: Ship materials using the ERP system and process shipping documents according to established policies and procedures. Communicate with Shipping partners to arrange pick up of finished goods. Arrange international shipments as well as local Outside Processing shipments. Assist in arranging incoming and outgoing vendor and company shipments with Purchasing team. Create bills of lading, packing slips, and Customs documentation for outgoing materials using our ERP System. Operate forklift, pallet jacks or hand trucks to prepare and stage materials for shipping. Verify the information on the shipping documents matches the information in the ERP System. Maintain an accurate inventory of materials in the stock shipping & receiving area. Accurately label products with part number, description, quantity per container, and order number. Contact and schedule freight carriers. Interface with internal customers including, purchasing, accounting, quality, manufacturing, sales, and program management to resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner. Resolve discrepancies related to incoming and outgoing of products. Keep the workstation and shipping & receiving area cleaned and organized. Assist in maintaining safe and effective work environment including storage practices. Adhere to all company policies and procedures relating to quality, health and safety. Be conscientious about workplace safety. Properly use and maintain equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility. Understand that all team members will need to pitch in, in other areas, as needed. Additional duties as assigned. You're a great fit for this position if this describes you; High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of experience in a production facility, shipping, receiving or materials handling. Skilled at performing basic shop math calculations (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, measuring, weighing and converting decimals). Basic knowledge of Empirical and Metric hardware. Exceptional computer skills; MS Office and Internet applications required; ERP applications a plus; Shipping software experience a plus; FedEx Ship Manager experience preferred. Experience operating various shipping equipment and tools Able to meet deadlines and understand the shipping schedule. Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for up to 12 hours per day when necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail, professionalism, and diplomacy in producing error-free documents and interacting with diverse audiences. Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, under pressure with time constrains while responding and adapting to change favorably and quickly.
