Shipping Specialist | Weekly Pay Job Description The Shipping Specialist ensures that all customer orders are prepared, packaged, and shipped accurately and on time for both domestic and international destinations. This role manages shipping documentation and records, coordinates closely with internal teams, and maintains a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse shipping environment. Responsibilities Ensure all customer orders ship on time and are complete, meeting daily shipping deadlines and service expectations. Prepare boxes, packaging materials, and supplies at the start of each day to set up efficient shipping operations. Pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately, verifying quantities and items against sales orders and packing slips. Check sales orders for part and serial numbers to confirm they match packing slips and shipping documentation before dispatch. Process domestic and international shipments across multiple modes of transportation, including parcel, LTL, air, and courier. Ensure proper packaging for all outbound shipments, following any special shipping instructions required by customers. Prepare and verify all required paperwork for international shipments, such as commercial invoices, packing slips, NAFTA certificates, and shipper export declarations. Maintain accurate shipping records, including scanning and uploading necessary paperwork into the network and relevant systems. Verify orders, part numbers, and shipping documentation to ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulations. Use ERP/SAP and other computer systems to process orders, manage shipping transactions, and update inventory information. Monitor shipping supplies regularly and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock of boxes, labels, and packaging materials. Work closely with customer-focused teams and manufacturing floor personnel on order processing and invoicing to ensure sales orders are expedited and received in the shipping department in a timely manner. Adhere to all shipping compliance requirements and follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Keep the work area clean, neat, and organized to support safety, efficiency, and quality standards. Maintain superior teamwork, effort, and a positive attitude while collaborating with colleagues across shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Cross-train and provide back-up support for other warehouse functions, including receiving, packaging, material put-away, and cycle counting. Perform cycle counts and support inventory management activities to help maintain accurate warehouse inventory levels. Use RF scanners and other warehouse technology to pick orders, track inventory, and update system records. Handle shipping through carriers such as FedEx and similar services, following carrier-specific procedures and requirements. Engage in regular data entry and computer work to document shipments, update records, and maintain accurate information in ERP/SAP and related systems. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse or distribution environment. Proven ability to pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately and on time. Strong attention to detail when verifying orders, part numbers, serial numbers, and shipping documentation. Experience processing domestic and international shipments, including parcel, LTL, air, and courier modes. Ability to prepare and manage international shipping paperwork such as commercial invoices, packing slips, NAFTA certificates, and shipper export declarations. Competence in maintaining accurate shipping records and scanning paperwork into networked systems. Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably ERP/SAP, for order processing, shipping, and inventory management. Solid computer skills for data entry, documentation, and communication within a regulated work environment. Experience with RF scanners for order picking and warehouse inventory tracking. Knowledge of inventory management practices, including cycle counting and warehouse inventory control. Ability to monitor and manage shipping supplies to support continuous operations. Commitment to following shipping compliance requirements, internal procedures, and external regulations. Strong teamwork skills and a positive, cooperative attitude when working with customer-focused teams and manufacturing personnel. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a warehouse shipping environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a regulated work environment with established quality and compliance standards. Background in warehouse shipping, inventory control, and order picking using RF scanner technology. Familiarity with carriers such as FedEx and related shipping platforms. Ability to cross-train and support related functions such as receiving, packaging, material put-away, and cycle counting. Comfort working with computer-based systems for data entry, record keeping, and document scanning. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders, documentation requirements, and shipping deadlines. Work Environment The role is based in a very clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated warehouse and shipping environment that operates under regulated standards. Team members work primarily Monday through Thursday, with available shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., providing a consistent 4-day work week. The environment relies on ERP/SAP systems, RF scanners, and computer-based tools to manage shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Work areas are kept neat and organized, and employees are expected to maintain a professional, safety-conscious presence while handling boxes, packaging materials, and shipments across multiple transportation modes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
