Harris Hardwoods LLC is seeking a
QUALIFIED
Shipping & Receiving Associate for our Foreston, MN location. This is not a Forklift Operator position, though forklift experience and skill is necessary and will be used consistently. Please read through the Job Summary and Job Responsibilities Sections in full to understand the position. Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments . Their duties include unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against product invoices, organizing and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests and notifying management personnel when they don't have enough of a particular product to fulfill orders.Job Responsibilities Include:
Properly accounting for the location of incoming goods Assuring no damaged items are sent or received Comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list Updating the product inventory as products are received and added to the inventory Packaging products for return to vendors and filling out any paperwork necessary Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them and distributing packages and letters within the company Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning and cataloging items on a regular basis Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them Receiving lumber in NetSuite system Inventory control and logging inventory moves in NetSuite system Weekly pallet inventory counts and reordering Other Duties and General Requirements Maintain good attendance and be punctual Be organized and make good use of time Keep the work area, machinery, and tools neat and clean and in proper order Follow standard operating procedures and seek continuous improvement throughout the department Follow all workplace safety guidelines The use of protective safety gear and equipment is always required Attend all safety planning, training, and other company meetings as required Stay informed by reading company communications and postings on the Employee Bulletin Board, and communicate regularly with the Production Manager and other leadership Read and understand the company's Employee Handbook for company policy, procedures and goals Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality standards- ensuring project specifications are met Keep complete, accurate, and legible documentation and ensure timely reporting Ability to follow company and industry guidelines and work collaboratively and respectfully with other leads and team members.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Minimum age requirement for machine operation: 18 years High School Diploma or GED Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English and have good communication and organizational skills Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test Must be able to reliably commute to Foreston MN Manufacturing knowledge or experience preferred Highly proficient with computers and data entry All benefits are available on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment, along with the 401(k- retirement plan, which has a company match. Vacation (PTO) accrual starts on your first day and can be used after 30 days of employment. New hires are eligible for a $2,500 Sign on Bonus. Working Conditions Regular work hours for 1st Shift are: Monday
- Thursday 5:00am
- 3:30pm, with occasional work required on Fridays. Workplace noise is in the high range and requires to use of hearing protection The workplace is a semi-climate-controlled environment
- it will be warm in the summer and cold in the winter Wood dust will be present Wages will be dependent upon skills and experience.
